A little more about me.

Hi, I’m Marlon.

I’m a marketing executive who enjoys building things: growth teams, better customer experiences, and the processes that turn good ideas into results.

Over the past 15+ years, my career has taken me across global brands, growing technology companies, and mission-driven organizations, including Burger King, Skyscanner, Student Loan Hero, Jaumo, Pixellu, and Christianity Today. My experience spans growth marketing, product-led growth, and revenue leadership. I enjoy learning what makes a business work, finding opportunities, and bringing people together to move it forward.

What I Bring

I take a data-led approach to growth, connecting what customers tell us with what their behavior and business results reveal. That means looking beyond acquisition to understand how people discover a product, experience its value, build habits around it, and decide to stay.

At Skyscanner, I led North American growth and served as a Product Owner, helping grow the region to six million monthly active users. At Student Loan Hero, I built the paid-media framework and managed a $2 million marketing budget at positive ROI.

At Pixellu, I built and led an eight-person growth organization, working closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and Data. My work connected acquisition with onboarding, activation, retention, and referrals, bringing a product-led growth perspective to the full customer journey.

Most recently, as SVP of Marketing and Advertising at Christianity Today, I led earned-revenue operations spanning marketing, advertising, subscriptions, audience development, customer service, and sales support. Working in a mission-driven organization deepened my appreciation for building sustainable revenue while protecting audience trust.

Across these roles, I’ve learned to combine data, customer understanding, and thoughtful experimentation. I bring experience to a new challenge without assuming the answer will be the same as it was somewhere else.

How I Work

Working with people is one of the most rewarding parts of my career. I enjoy understanding what motivates someone, where they want to grow, and how their strengths can contribute to the team. Clear goals matter, but so does helping people see why their work matters and giving them the trust and support to take ownership.

I believe motivation grows when people feel heard, understand the direction, and can see the difference they’re making. My role as a leader is to create those conditions, remove obstacles, and provide honest feedback that helps people move forward.

Upskilling is a big part of that. I enjoy coaching teammates, sharing what I’ve learned, and creating opportunities for people to stretch their abilities. That might mean strengthening someone’s approach to experimentation, helping them interpret performance data, or giving them ownership of a new initiative. I’m committed to learning alongside them as tools, customer expectations, and marketing practices evolve.

I also value working across disciplines. Some of the best ideas emerge when Marketing, Product, Sales, and Customer Service bring their different perspectives to the same challenge. I enjoy helping those teams find shared priorities and turn their knowledge into better customer experiences.

Colleagues have described me as approachable, willing to experiment, and able to bring clarity to competing priorities. One said she always felt comfortable coming to me with a challenge. That’s the kind of environment I want to build: people can ask questions, challenge ideas, develop their skills, and do work they’re proud of together.

Beyond Work

I’m a Miami native based in Orlando, a husband, and a dad of two. My family and Christian faith are important parts of my life, shaping the emphasis I place on integrity, service, and how I treat people.

I also co-host Faith That Stands, a podcast exploring questions about Christianity and the reasons behind belief. It’s a personal creative outlet that brings together my curiosity, love of learning, and interest in making complex ideas approachable.

Giving back matters to me, too. I’ve served on the UCF College of Business Alumni Board and mentored students. Through my work with the Burger King McLamore Foundation, I initiated a Room to Read partnership that helped establish a children’s library in South Africa. I am the founder of the Orlando Dads Group and currently serve as a Stephen Minister at my church.

Outside of those commitments, I enjoy traveling with my family, exploring Orlando’s food scene, and following real estate.

Let’s Talk

I’m open to full-time marketing leadership roles and select consulting or contract engagements across industries. Whether you’re growing a technology business, strengthening an established brand, or advancing a mission, I’d welcome a conversation about how I can help.
